Shanya is a third year International Development student. She co-founded the Mock Trial Team because she believes there is nothing quite like the thrill of trial and she'd like other Mock Trial students to experience it. Her personal involvement with Mock Trial (for six years now) has helped her hone in on an interest in law, and has given her a confidence-building, competitive outlet. She's excited to provide support and a sense of community to students who feel the same!
Debi is a fourth year studying Political Science and Russian Language. As well as co-founding the mock trial team, has also participated on the McGill Moot Court team for three years. She was also a part of the finalizing team during the 2018 University of Toronto Mock Trial Competition. Her interests include public speaking, studying international law, and cooking.
Alyssia is double majoring in economics and international development. In parallel of her bachelor at McGill, she’s pursuing a degree in french law. She has always been very passionate about legal analysis and debate. Mock trial offered her a great space to further these interests and meet lifelong friends. She is really looking forward to meet all the new mooters and excited to help develop a strong mock trial community at McGill.
Adin is entering his second year at McGill in Politics and Economics. He has participated in competitive mock trial in both high school and university, and is excited to bring this experience to the 2019-2020 Mock Trial team. Adin will have the role of witness coach, working with the other coaches to prepare our teams for success in their competitions throughout the year.
Anna is entering her second year at McGill, pursuing a Political Science major and a Religion & Globalization and Geography: Urban Systems double minor. Anna is passionate about law and spent the summer working with the American Bar Association Rule if Law Initiative in the Africa division. In high school, she competed in many mock trial contests as an attorney and has loved the mock trial peeps ever since. Anna looks forward to the level of skill and legal prowess contestants will bring to the trials while also showing off their best acting abilities.
Chlöe is entering her final year at McGill pursuing an Honours Major in Political Science and Minor in European Literature and Culture. She is passionate about public speaking and has competed widely at the high school and collegiate level of debate. She has extensive tournament organization experience from her time on the debate circuit and looks forward to organizing McGill’s Mock Trial Invitational Tournament in the Winter semester of 2020. Chlöe is excited about the opportunity to dive deeper into the collegiate Mock Trial community.
